Smoke A bud

NJWeedman has been one of the biggest advocates for the legalization of marijuana in the nation, one of the very few African-American activist and he continues to fight to keep this plant free, not only for him but for lovers of the "ganja" everywhere. His passion for this cause has led him from his home State of New Jersey, to the pot friendly State of California, where he opened The Liberty Temple II in Hollywood and formed NJWeedman Promotions.

Now he needs your help!

NJweedman has spent this past year battling charges he incurred in New Jersey back on April 1st, 2010 when he was arrested for possession of a pound of marijuana while visiting his family. Bail, lawyers, briefs, flights back & forth to the east coast have become very costly to him. But as NJWeedman has proven, he doesn't give up easy. He's decided to take the case to the Jury in a all or nothing bid at freedom. His planned defense utilizing JURY NULLIFICATION irks, the legal profession, but NJweedman feels this is the way to win the war on drugs. Break the Governments back with juries who refuse to convict. "Genius or foolish"? History will tell us. Will he be The next William Penn or should he be in the Pen.

Only his Jury can say that, and NJweedman wants to present to the Jury that the Law itself is wrong not he. If his jury agree's he walks free, if not years in a New Jersey State Prison.

His trial is set to begin on June 21st, at the Burlington County Superior Court in Holly, New Jersey, before Superior Court Judge Delehey. If NJWeedman wins this case he can change the marijuana laws in New Jersey, affecting millions of marijuana users, possibly nation-wide. In true NJWeedman style, he and Attorney John Saykanic filed a historic legal challenge to New Jersey marijuana laws, to simultaneously fight his case as well as to legalize marijuana in the entire State of New Jersey.

How can you help?!

In honor and preparation for his trial, NJWeedman-Promotions is having a PARTY on June 18, 2011! Join him in his celebration and victorious send-off to his trial, while helping with the costs associated taking the steps to legalize the herb. This FUNDRAISER PARTY is accepting donations of any size for those who want to be part of history by keeping NJWeedman (and Weed) FREE!

This fight is too big for one man to fight alone, but NJWeedman has stepped forward, sacrificing everything, to stand up for all marijuana users (and everybody who believes in freedom of speech, expression and religion), and who are against useless laws. It is ironic that this man, who New Jersey labeled as a criminal, could become known as a visionary. Come have a drink, have a toke and help the man who can change everything for the better.

BOOK REVEIW:
Public Enemy #420

"It is perhaps ironic that a man that the State of New Jersey labeled a criminal could now be considered a visionary, as New Jersey has just joined the ever-growing number of States legalizing marijuana. A true freedom fighter, Edward Forchion was willing to lose everything he had ( including his own freedom) in order to promote a message that he knew was just and, he correctly maintained, was supported by the United States Constitution. There are few men throughout history who have been willing to sacrifice as much as Edward Forchion for the principles he believes in and, in the end, his principles were totally vindicated…......"

And so begins the memoirs of the man, most know as the notorious New Jersey Weedman! Ed Forchion aka NJWeedman has achieved cult status in the medical marijuana community and beyond for his stance as an advocate for his right to legally smoke marijuana.

A well known cannabis activist, even before its legalization in several states, he founded the Legalize Marijuana Party on April 20th,1998. An avowed Rastafarian rebel, the former New Jersey resident openly and indiscriminately incorporated the use of marijuana in his daily practices and spiritual belief system, much to the chagrin of the state's local authorities. His legend was confirmed when he was arrested for smoking the sacred herb in front of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA!

A disarming intellectual, with a vitae that includes running for Governor, Senator and a Congressional seat in the state of New Jersey, as well as a stint in prison for various related herb charges, the self-professed "pot head" finally tired of fighting the powers that be. In 2008, NJ Weedman fled New Jersey in a self imposed political exile to sunny California, a state that, per the passage of The Compassionate Use Act of 1996 Prop. 215 and SB420 recognizes the legal use of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

"Public Enemy #420," is the tell-all memoirs of this marijuana activist. Ed Forchion is one of the few Black men in the medical marijuana community to actively and openly campaign, position and politic for his right to exercise his freedom of choice to partake in a ritual he considers sacred. Once a self employed truck driver, Forchion is now the victorious owner of his own medical marijuana dispensary in California on the famous Hollywood Boulevard. He names his dispensary the Liberty Bell Temple as an ode to the basic concepts of democracy and faith.

A true "Superhero of the Potheads," Ed Forchion's "Public Enemy #420" is chock full of amazing statistics about the "politricks" of marijuana as well as the page turning adventures of his life. A must read for pot smokers, non-pot smokers, and anyone who relishes FREEDOM!

POT PARTY FLIERS

FROM ACTIVIST to CAPITALIST.
Smoke A bud

I've been a weed activist for over a decade now. I've paid dearly for being a weed activist. It has cost me my family and my freedom on more than one occasion, it has cost me plenty of cash thru bails and lost income, my image, my self respect. In New Jersey that is!!!

A Reefer Revolution has occured in Los Angeles. There are hundreds of thousands of Cannabis Consumers here in La who have gotten thier medical marijuana cards and smoke openly. I decided to cater to them, to become a weed capitalist to hold events that catered to the medical marijuana using community of los Angeles..

I'd like to host big monthly public pot parties. Grand regal events that signal our presence in main stream America. These events will be social events but just to hold such a event to me is demonstrating my open civil-disobedience of our nations pot policies. So while officially dropping my activism mantra, and going capitalist my activism mentality is still blatently showing with my actions and intentions.

NJ Weedman Boosts the Economy
Via Marijuana Parties

During recessions, people tend to indulge more in their vices, so it might seem contrary that there's economic woe in the weed industry.

Luckily, the proprietor of the Liberty Bell Temple medical marijuana supply store in Hollywood has come up with a novel idea for a stimulus plan: throwing highly-publicized pot parties like the 420 Obama One Year in Office Celebration party advertised at left.

"Times got hard in the dispensary business," says marijuana aficionado Ed Forchion, who calls himself New Jersey Weedman. In 2004 he attempted (unsuccessfully) to change his name legally to NJWeedman.com. He has since relocated to California.

In a recent email with Asylum, the trucker-turned-activist gave us the straight dope on throwing bashes catering to the cannabis-consuming community.

His recent "bongs and thongs" and New Year's Eve celebrations continued a formula he twisted up six months ago. The marketing budget is miniscule yet effective; he promotes the parties via Web sites, word of mouth and fliers, and offers discounts for female attendees and card-carrying patients.

He admits the number of attendees has been modest at first, but with a few successful events, he expects his guest list and the cash flow to increase from the 500 people present at a recent shindig. His next party is the 420 Obama One Year in Office Celebration, scheduled for Feb. 27th, has been posponed until-(MARCH 6th, 2010) .

Forget about any "don't ask, don't tell" policy for non-patient participants. "I pass out joints to those who have medical cards but I'm not the police," says Forchion. "I'm not checking. At my parties there is no need to sneak off and smoke [if not a patient]. I encourage people to get out of the cannabis closet and smoke openly, to smoke with me."

But keeping the man from dousing the fire has to be a challenge, right? Not necessarily, says Forchion: "Marijuana is a low-priority police concern [in California]. So many people have medical marijuana cards that they'd be wasting time and resources busting us."

Still, the Weedman offers some final dos and don'ts for aspiring activists and party hosts. "Although I hope other promoters do actually promote to the out-of-the-cannabis-closet consuming community, I don't encourage anyone to go through the trials and tribulations that I have in the past." In other words, do not light a joint in front of historic monuments and on the floor of the State Assembly.

And remember, residing in a state that holds a relaxed view of marijuana is obviously recommended.
